The National
Casting Center at Alfred is a cooperative
project between metal and glass casting that
will double the capacity of the glass facility
and the metal foundry. The Center provides a dedicated glass casting facility
and a new metal foundry featuring an induction
furnace for melting high temperature metals
such as stainless steel. The National Casting
Center will also make it possible to add two
more large glory holes to our glass blowing
studio.
We have an extensive visiting artist program
and the Paul Vickers Gardner Center for Glass
which is a cooperation between glass art and
glass science. All in all this is about the
best place to study glass in the world.
