The School of Art & Design at Alfred University provides the professional guidance, creative opportunity, and necessary media exposure to shape tomorrow's professional artists, designers and scholars. Located in Western New York, the historic, picturesque village of Alfred provides an ideal, contemplative setting in which to study art. The School of Art & Design, while located on a private university campus, is part of the State University of New York university system, and competitively priced.

Alfred's NASAD accredited school boasts two nationally ranked programs; its award-winning faculty are internationally renowned artists as well as highly dedicated teachers and mentors, and its studio facilities are among the most diverse and best equipped in the nation. Through an intensive, studio-based program, the curriculum offers a solid background in art history and liberal arts. Class size is limited to ensure a small faculty/student ratio. Complementing faculty instruction is an impressive visiting artist program as well as study abroad and internship opportunities. Additional resources include The Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art and Scholes Library of Ceramics.

We invite you to come check us out! To make an appointment, call our Office of Admissions. They will be happy to arrange a tour of the Art & Design facilities, portfolio critique, campus tour, admissions interview, financial aid or other specific appointments. We look forward to showing you why the School of Art & Design at Alfred is an excellent educational choice.
